Doesn't help that the ump is an absolute clown- the strike zone has been a joke today

Can't blame Church.  Had to swing - for some reason that same pitch was called a strike earlier.

It may be a moot point now but he definitely tagged the runner, not only that, the throw clearly beat him to the bag and that usually is called an out.

I know....that was my point.  the runner was OUT.  the other guy said he missed the tag and I disagreed.

If the Nats lose this game by 2, I'm going to be completely disgusted - it's one thing to lose a game straight up - tip your cap to the opponent and get em next time - it's another thing entirely to get robbed by incompetent officiating - at the very minimum this game should be tied and by all rights it should be 5-4 Nats - I'm as steamed about this game so far as I was about the game against the bux ...

I watched a college football game once where Doug Williams and the guy in the booth with him argued the merits of an official's call well into the 4th quarter (even though the call was made in the 1st)

True. There are several calls that can be pointed out to illustrate this but let's face it, we haven't pitched or hit well enough to win this game. Having said that, we still have a shot to redeem ourselves.

Agreed.. The umps have cost us 3 runs and Langerhans cost us 1. We don't exactly deserve to win this game (bad pitching, bad hitting for the most part, bad defense on Langerhans' play) but the score should be closer.

So if Young gets that homer run call his way he would be 4-4 today.

Thanks Dmitri.. sloppy sloppy sloppy.  OK, I'm done with criticizing the umpires although they were awful.  We have absolutely no business winning this game.

What took Rivera so long to get there? He could've adjusted had he been there quicker.

My point is this team is held together with duck tape and paper towels - the Nats have no margin for error - the fact is they've done enough to be winning this game - other teams can over come bad calls - the Nats can't - they don't have that luxury -So when a game is impacted by bad officiating it's just that much more magnified against a team like the Nats and it's just irritates me to no end ...

I agree that the officiating has been ghastly but I disagree that we have done enough to win this game. It looks like they just want to get on the plane and come home.

Craziest thing about this game is so many things have gone against us, yet we're only down three. This kind of thing still makes me real happy. This is one that a year ago we would have put our heads down and gotten blown out. It's great to have guys that don't give up.

What the hell is Rivera doing.. oh well, might as well give up a bunch of runs now and not in Baltimore.

Young should have been the DH today, NOT Zimmerman.  D-Tank's fielding continues to cost us.

Nationals 3
Evil Twins 6

Saul getting knocked around ... yuck ... I suppose there's some consolation to the reverse home run and the missed call on the steal if the twins win by more than 3 ...

Well, we can go round and round about this - but if 2 calls were made properly, this game is 5-5  right now ... anyway .. no use crying over spilt milk ... go get a sweep in Baltimore - that will make me way happier than this game is irking me

Was that not the same pitch he called strike one?
