WNFF M&G v4.0
« Topic Start: March 11, 2021, 07:00:34 PM »

With all US adults now becoming eligible for the vaccine on May 1st, I'm taking a leap of faith that we can at least look to schedule the 4th almost annual WNFF M&G...

Thinking we'll all want as much time to get comfortable with returning to the ballpark and socializing in what will likely be less distanced circumstances, I'd suggest we target Saturday afternoon, September 18th.

Open to suggestions as always, but that's what I have for openers...

If a mod will please sticky this in it's usual place of distinction...

Sticky set.
I think sph may have ticket bonuses that can help. August/ September might be good.

early august?  It'll be hot and might conflict with vacations, but otherwise that's not too bad of a consideration. There's also a chance some school schedules may get adjusted to make up for the mess that the past year plus has made of in person education. Typically don't we do a Saturday?

Heck Yeah!  If the Mayor will allow it, I'm in.

That should work for me if I'm able to swing a trip up there this year!

9/18 is OK by me.  Rosh Hashana starts that night, so there might be some folks who would skip it or only show up for the M&G and then blow out.  I'll probably do the game.  The alternatives at the end of the year aren't great - Labor Day weekend v the Mets and last Saturday of the season v the Red Sox.  8/14 Barves is a night game.

By then I'll probably be going to every game and hiding in the bathrooms in between games so I don't have to leave the ballpark, so all good from my perspective.

Probably not for me unfortunately - my Dad was a high school principal and has been invited to his first graduating class's 50th reunion - 1971.  He wouldn't miss it and I'm needed to take him.   Which is a joy for me because he'll be fawned over for several hours and get a couple of free drinks.  But I will miss this, would otherwise have made a commitment to be there.

They only got one bottle.... I was able to salvage the other. I learned how to avoid that in the future. In government speak, we call that a "takeaway".  :hysterical:

You were her least favorite  :hysterical:

But seriously, she really enjoyed it. She was worried that she’d feel out of place but ended up having a great time talking with everyone. I think that serves as a testament to the environment of inclusion that this group fosters.

Environment?  Inclusion?  That sounds like how work sounds this year . . .

I did accept the position of Chief of Staff for my company's "Diversity and Inclusion" Council. Must be rubbing off on me.

Cope - there is hope for you yet.  You could become a liberal eventually.
