Now there goes a real local legend. I still remember residing here in the mid-60's and listening to him and Ed Walker on WRC radio's 'JoyBoys':
'We are the joyboys of radio, we chase electrons and to and fro...'

Would have been nice if he could have made it to 100.

I saw very few of those episodes and don't know one character from another, but the episodes I saw were riveting...

If you are a Norm fan, check out Dirty Work, his movie in the 1990s with Artie Lange. It was one of those "this is really dumb, but hysterically funny" type movies that got a lot more popular as the years passed. Tons of cameos from SNL alumni and even Don Rickles.

I've been watching Youtubes of him this afternoon.  I always really liked him but didn't see a lot of these appearances.  Great stuff.

His OJ jokes are legendary ( and iirc, what got him fired from SNL)

Yep.  He was great.  I liked him a lot but am still a bit surprised by the overwhelming reaction on Twitter today.  He was much loved and respected by a lot of people, principally his peers.
