IMHO Hagler, in his prime, was the greatest pound-for-pound boxer Of our time. He was definitely robbed in the Leonard fight, Leonard also robbed Hearns in their second fight. I really miss those golden years of boxing....that middleweight division was amazing. Hagler- Hearns was the most amazing three rounds of boxing I have ever seen.
I might put Roy Jones Jr. in that discussion, but I'm not going to argue with Hagler. And even though there was a lot of controversy in the Leonard-Hagler match, you still have to consider Leonard as one of the all-time greats given the competition he beat during his prime (Hearns, Hagler, Duran, etc.).
One guy who still doesn't get enough credit for how great he was is Larry Holmes during that era. He was my favorite fighter as a kid (which wasn't easy to say publicly on Long Island during the build-up to the Gerry Cooney fight).
Could you imagine how much money guys like Ali and Leonard would make in today's day and age?
