well, Ross got a day off already.  Probably the extra day by keeping Fedde in for a 5/11 start is the way they will go.  May even go with 6 man rotation from 5/11-5/23 to get extra rest in that stretch if Stras is back.
I would go with 5 and put someone on the IL with some injury.  Take turns being injured.

Davey says Soto was scheduled to throw from RF before today's game, and if he feels OK he'll be back in the field tomorrow.

Suero is gong to pitch with the Red Wings at Lehigh Valley, and Strasburg will throw another simulated game on Tuesday.

Suero gave up 2 earned runs on a hit and a walk in one inning for Rochester.

#Nationals starter Stephen Strasburg threw 62 pitches (12 more than expected) and had four ups in a simulated game today. Dave Martinez said team will decide at the end of the week whether to send Strasburg out for a rehab assignment or get him more sim game action

So still not a firm table timetable, but will see “at the end of the week“ timetable. All without elaborating as to what actually is going on. Neat.

Stras goes 4.1 for Rochester, 2 walks, 2 hits, 6 Ks, no runs. 75 pitches.

Strasburg scheduled to throw a 50-55 pitch bullpen today. Assuming no issues he's probably on track to start Friday.

Is anyone really surprised? He had some unexplainable hand soreness and swelling, yet came back

the only shocking thing is that they can't figure out what it is and were just saying "learn to pitch with it."  I guess also shocking is the MLBPA would let them get away with it.

This has been going on for a while, so MLBPA sees the Nats need to find out if it is more than just usage

That’s a good thing.   Harris is awful

Pitching when your index and middle fingers are swollen and puffy sounds like it would result in "awful."

Correct. Will Harris was a decent reliever last year, and previously had been amongst the game's best

36 years old and hurt. And one more year left on his contract after this at 8 million. Ugh.

I'm actually struggling to understand how anyone would even do it as a guy who's basically all cutters and breaking pitches.  All of that needs a lot from your fingers. Bratwurst fingers would just result in cutters with no bite and meatball hanging curves.
