Jesus Christ, you have a soon-to-be-fiance? Does she know about you?  :hysterical:

My original plan was for 1 seat in 317. I ended up getting 2 seats for 4 games in April. Sections 110, 112, 132 and 140 because that was pretty much all that was available by the time they let the filthy half plan holders in the mix. I’m not upset about it. The new ticketing method allows me to adjust fire on my forty game single seat plan and allow me to bring my soon to be fiancé to more games.

Does anyone who had earlier access know if there were any seats available in the Diamond and Delta Club and if so, will Covid strip a lot of the benefits of being seated there?

Kind of. I took her to Vegas for a week but she kept escaping from all the chapels.

I got in right at 10am, and while I wasn't looking for Diamond or Delta club seats, I didn't happen to notice those areas enabled as sections that were available.  I think I recall someone saying that people who have seasons plans in those areas already had their online sale, so I'm sure the available inventory was snapped up then.

Mrs. VaRK and I got hitched by Elvis at the Candlelight Chapel in Las Vegas in 1984.

He may or may not have actually been Elvis...but it makes for a better story...

Yup, me too. But I noticed on the ticket receipt that they are now calling it the "Champions Club".  I'm cool with that!

how much did he weigh?  that's the tell.  By 1984, scientists projected that Elvis would weigh 602 lbs.

For my 1986 Halloween costume, I was Elvis in later life.  Won 1st prize at the law school halloween party.  No known pictures exist, but I still have my 1st prize, a BC Law sweathshirt.

as he would have been in 1986.  Consistent with science's best projections for his weight, hairline, etc...

Yes...he would likely have been pretty bloated by 1984...

Sadly, this will be the first Nats Opening Day that I've ever missed (not counting the one last year that EVERYONE missed).  I stupidly booked a Spring Break vacation with the family months ago without cross-referencing with the sports calendar.  If I was within 4 hours driving distance I might have considered leaving the beach house to come back for the game, then return, but we'll be a good 6 hours away from the ballpark.  :bang:  Well, the good news is that the game will be on ESPN, so at least I'll still be able to watch!   :woop:

Nope, way down on Hatteras Island.  Only way off is car or ferry.  Hate to break the streak, but I'll be there on Sunday screaming my head off.

Somewhat unrelated question - I wonder if they will will have a special pre-game ceremony to celebrate the 2019 World Series championship?  That was my biggest disappointment about having no fans last year.  It would have been SO fun to celebrate that on Opening Day.  It would seem a little weird to do it this year with only 5,000 fans in the park (and a year late).

I'm hoping there's something as well put on by the Nationals celebrating the 2019 World Series. On the streak, I truly feel your pain and predicament. I've never missed Nationals Opening Day even though I've lived back in the DC area for two years max since we've had our Nationals playing. I'm married now and living in Texas, however my wife and I are having twins in September-ish time frame. I believe with twins on the way, my wife will kabosh any chances of future Opening Days for me as we'll be up to four kids next season. Logistically, it will become a nightmare (which I'm willing to deal with). My wife on the other hand doesn't get why I like watching grown men playing sports and the additional kids essentially give her a reason to push back on me. Even now, she's like, "Go out and play baseball - don't watch someone else do it." I'm like, "I'm 46-years old... let's be realistic." I'm resigned to the fact that all good things eventually come to an end...

I just looked on stubhub. They are indeed quite spendy. Almost to the level of feeling bad about not selling mine.

We paid $5,528.40 for our four tickets in Section A, Row H (splitting the cost four ways). The seller came off the pricing approximately $1,000 per ticket over the last week. It was cheaper than my World Series ticket for Game 1 in Houston... well worth it IMO as I'm probably not making too many more games in the near future with twins on the way.

The way I look at it... it's a bucket list item - and my one game for the year. Pricey... for sure. I complained too much on here about the politics in DC to be shutout from this game. Now if I can get the ticket app to work on my phone, I'll feel a little bit better about the purchase. Go Nats...

I look at it as the same way as I looked at it with my post season strip. I could sell them for way more than I paid for them but I'd hate myself for not being there. The only reason I sold the one I did in this forum was because it was a mathematical impossibility for them to win at home and I had spent way too much money at the previous two games.  :hysterical:
