Plus ca change, plus c'est la meme chose...athletes still think they're above all these medical/physical conditions that affect ordinary humans.

They're also just dumb.

His week 2 was night and day compared to his week 1. He was one of my favorites. Who did you think was the best? I also liked Gupta, Jennings and Mayim Bialik. Anderson Cooper was good, but I don’t like him for the full time gig.

A lot of hype over Levar Burton hosting Jeopardy but he's been a disaster. He needs an even better week 2 improvement than the one Aaron Rodgers had.

Burton was just terrible...and someone here said he was gonna be a frontrunner for the gig...

That was the name that was being thrown around as a replacement when Trebek died. The real time episodes of this week's games must be an even bigger disaster. :lmao:

Wentz out 5-12 weeks. I mean who could have predicted that. Looks like the Eagles will not get a first rounder out of the deal.

He only gets one week. You get David Faber (Some CNBC dude) this week and Joe Buck next week. Then I imagine they will name full time guy or gal.
And yes. Burton was quite bad.

It sounds like the producer is going to get the full time gig. I didn't think he was horrible but I didn't have him in my top 3

This article despite the headline basically says talks are not heating up per some sources. I have a hard time seeing a trade unless the legal situation is resolved.

I think the legal situation will resolve itself. Trading for Watson now would be a move with an eye towards 2022

Patriots should trade for him.  They could go and get massages together.

https://www.boston.com/sports/new-england-patriots/2021/08/25/what-draft-pick-do-the-patriots-get-in-sony-michel-trade/

Michel to the Rams for either:
- a 4th round pick if the Rams get that as a comp pick or
- a 5th and a 6th.

What strikes me is how in the NFL generally picks players bring back in trade most of the time are lower than their draft position.  Michel was a tail end of the 1st round guy who has been productive but not a superstar, so I think this is probably a fair price given the market.  I suppose guys several seasons out from the draft start getting expensive and, at least with running backs, nearer to the end of their useful career, so maybe that's part of why you get back a lower pick.  There's the occasional UFA or late rounder who turns into a starter like Wes Welker (who brought back a 2nd rounder to Miami), but I think higher picks than draft position are uncommon.

Eh I don't know if it's cold, Jones was better than him so he's the starter and maybe Cam didn't want to be a backup so asked for his release?

Cam has nothing to be ashamed about in his decade-long NFL career. Time comes for us all. He proved many people wrong and for a few years played at a level that few in the sport have approached.

There may be a COVID angle, at least as the final straw. In the Globe, they mentioned Cam had to miss the scrimmages against the NYG because he was in COVID protocol and apparently has not been vaxxed.  Jones has not confirmed he's been vaxxed, but he has said positive things about vaccination and throughout camp has been allowed to be without a mask (indicating he was vaxxed under NFL protocols).  Will the NFL be having forfeits this year if a team has to cancel due to an outbreak?  I could see BB not being patient on this.

I'm guessing he will be picked up by the end of the day. Lots of teams, Cowboys for example, could use him.
