Watching the early rounds of the Australian open was like a trip to the past with big crowds. But now they have lockdowns in Melbourne and no fans. That’s a shame.

American Sebastian Korda is battling to get into the round of 16 at Wimbledon.  His father was a famous tennis guy and Mom was also a tennis pro.  His two sisters are top golfers on the LPGA tour.  Quite a sporting family.

Jensen Brooksby, the 20 year old american, takes the first set from Djokovic.  6-1.  Kid seems just the opposite of most of the americans of recent vintage.  Not much of serve but has all the other shots and looks like he has a real feel for the game.  The Joker will probably win but a nice showing so far for this kid.

I think they said he had never played on clay before this year.  Just mixes it up.  Lots of drop shots and lobs.  Returns serve well.  Just does not serve hard enough at 6'4".  He is getting dominated now.  Djokovic one the second 6-3 and up 5-1 in the third. 
EDIT:  Just got his first ace of the match.

So two teenagers into the women’s semifinals at the US Open.  The 18 year old guy from Spain lost in the quarterfinals. Djokovic looks like he has a tough road in his three matches for the grand slam. Barring upsets. Berretini and then probably Zverev and Medvedev.

The US Open women’s singles final will be held on the 20th anniversary or 9/11. The two finalists were both born after those events.

Djokovic can not pull off the Grand Slam.  Just totally outclassed by Medvedev today.  Losing 2-5 in the thread set as I write this.  Looks like the age factor and Djokovic playing much more tennis in the tournament made the difference.  Think the same happened in the Women's Final.
