Freeman seems to be the guy most well liked by the rest of the league.

The Nats have done a pretty good job of treading water with all the injuries and covid issues so far.   I suppose it will all come down to the long term prognosis for Soto and Strasburg.

It helps that the rest of the division has been pretty middling as well

It seems like the other NL East teams have been beating each other up while the Nats have only played one series against division rivals.

The Braves have injuries. The Phillies and Marlins are ~.500 teams. The Mets are being the Mets.

Eventually,  I expect the Braves to healthy and the Mets to click.

Braves got 1 hit in 14 innings.  B2B shutouts.  Ouch.

Harper took a 97mph fastball to his face but appears to be ok though he left the game. It hit him on the left cheek and cut him.

The pitcher hit Didi as well who hit after Harper. Sounds like H-Rod.

Game and a half back after what was on paper a tough schedule.  Granted, Mets, BJs, Barves, St L are all around .500 and only the Dodgers are playing like one of the better teams, but to hang in there and not get blown out early feels much better than 2019-2020, even with our record being slightly worse.

The Phillies move into the division lead with a .500 record.

In every other division there is at least one team 6 games over .500.

The Nationals move ahead of the Marlins and Mets in winning percentage, but are behind the Marlins in the win column.
