It's similar or worse in the AL East. At least in the NL East, the Mets were supposed to be the best or near best team. The AL East is not quite but close to the flip order of expectations.
The Mets in the NL East and the Dodgers in the NL West were predicted to by PECOTA and other preseason prognosticators to lead their divisions. It's early, but that is sort of on-track. Again, it's early, but in the other four divisions, not only is the preseason pick not leading, but the leader in three of those divisions was picked to be in fourth place. And if the Mariners sweep the doubleheader against Baltimore today, all four division leaders will be teams picked to in fourth place.
