Poll

How long in 2021 will Carter Kieboom last as the Nats third baseman?

Not to the end of Spring Training.  Replaced by trade, or someone beats him out.
5 (20.8%)
He'll be replaced by the end of May.  Quick hook after flailing.
10 (41.7%)
He'll be replaced by the end of July.  Either we upgrade to contend or want to try another guy we control next year.
0 (0%)
He'll make past 7/31, but we will try to another guy as a regular at 3rd by the end of the year.
0 (0%)
He will be a regular the entire year, either at 3rd or another infield position.
9 (37.5%)

Curious as to who everyone thinks will be at 3rd when the dust settles.

What year is this? :)

I'm going with Garcia even though he's not on the list (so I voted for Bryant).

That is one weak list of 3rd basemen.  Is this 2003 Montreal Expos?

I think we end up platooning Garcia and Kieboom, so I go Garcia.

I'm not so sure about this move.  Who was on first, so moving him to the left side into a tougher position defensively could backfire.

Maybe we should add Justin Turner and allow members to change vote.

Justin Turner would be a great addition, but the organization seems to want Kieboom to have one more chance. KB probably hits no better than he ever has, so about July 4, when the Nats send him to Rochester, it will be a dead loss.

"No better than he ever has" is all star level hitting.

I think he meant Kieboom does not hit any better than his first 165 PAs, which is not All Star level. Same as Trout, same as Pedroia. Now, if you want a lock solid Superstar after 100 PAs, try Shane Spencer.

Maybe over his career.

I think he had a decent year last year in KC? Would be cheap insurance.
