Independent station playing alternative rock.

Description:

Music and people — both are best when they aren’t confined by labels. And a radio station that connects the two should be independent, intelligent, and diverse, like the minds of its listeners. At 92.5 the River, we celebrate that diversity every day, playing music that weaves a rock-and-roll tapestry across time and genres. Our playlist includes elements of alternative, acoustic, blues, folk, reggae, and other forms of music. You’ll hear a blend of current releases from today’s artists, your favorites from the '80s and '90s, and a few deep album cuts from the '60s and '70s. You’ll also hear artists and songs that have never been played on the radio before, because we believe that discovering new music is one of life’s simple joys, and we love to share that joy with our listeners. If your relationship with music runs deep, and you enjoy a playlist that’s just as deep, tune in to 92.5 the River —Boston’s Independent Radio!

I think there is a similar station when we drive through NC.

going through and looking at links for threads in the past, I came across the opening post in 2018.  I've been looking for this version someplace for a long time.

On Nantucket, I think there's a radio station "WRRR - all sea shanties all the time."

Used to work with a guy who listened to Gregorian chants. I think I prefer the sea chantries.

ImRef - you are showing your age, both in music & cartoons.  But once I started watching, I couldn't stop it myself

Whoever put that together was quite clever.

There are several of them out there, the one of them doing Freebird is pretty good as well.

Thanks for posting that.  Bad Company is really an oversight.  I'm partial to Todd Rundgren (philly boy).  The Go Gos were trend setters so they probably deserve to get in based on that.

I don't associate Dionne Warwick with rock.  Great artist in her time, but inducting her would be almost like inducting Liza Minelli or Glenn Miller.

If it was in San Jose she would have a better chance.

Brian Eno is a pretty serious oversight as well, not as much for Roxy Music as his production.

I do wonder at what point the hall will stop going back to the 60s and 70s.  At some point, the hall-worthy acts from that era will be exhausted.  If they put up the Strawberry Alarm Clock (hey, Ed King got his start there) off of Incense and Peppermints and nothing else. then you know it is just more BS for OWGs like me.

Yes, that was why she was part of the Psychic Network.

amazing this took so long to come to light:

If it was only the park authorities and Mr. New Jersey, that’s one recipe for keeping it quiet

Wonder if Jeep knew this before they put him behind the wheel of one of their vehicles?

He was born to run. Not drive.
