Another Metallica cover from the Mongolian band The HU, just released 45 minutes ago. This is part of the Metallica Blacklist, a collection of 53 Metallica covers by different bands in connection with the 30th anniversary of the Black Album, which dropped today and whose proceeds are going to charity.

Also a playlist with many of the covers: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLJvQXRgtxlumMmvPbnQInIkTaKFPh0k1I

Talk about wanting to be Metallica - even something of a 'borrow' (ahem..) from' Creeping Death'...Very enjoyable track, though, for all that.

Dave visiting his folks and friends?

By the way, Mr. Grohl, if you adopted the former Expos as your NL team to go with the Mariners, feel free to post demo songs in this thread.  You are welcome at the Meet and Greet Saturday before the Nats- Rox game.  It's in the afternoon.  Just avoid the rally at the Capitol.  Best to switch to the green line rather than walk from Capitol South.

That must have been a hot ticket.

That must have been a hot ticket.

it was a surprise show announced on Wednesday, with a two ticket limit and vaccinations required (or proof of negative tests). Grohl announced at the end of the show that they are building a replica of the original 9:30 club right next to the current one.

lots of fan videos from last night are on YouTube (gotta love the drum kit cover)

To mark 9/11 - only one piece of music is appropriate (and, for me, this is the definitive performance)

I waited 52 years to hear Soul Sacrifice live in concert.  It was well worth the wait.

Their opening was 6 classics non-stop and was as good as any entire concert I've ever seen.  They played for over two hours, though I got my money's worth in the first 45 minutes.  I would do it again...

Friend told me he is flying out to the Stones concert in Vegas in November. He will now have seen them live in the:

1960s
1970s
1980s
1990s
2000s
2010s
2020s

A fella by the name of Andy Vargas.  He himself was good but not great.  Been with Carlos since 2000.

Santana's wife is a pretty good drummer...as are the other percussionists...

The Altria Theater in Richmond.  I would have ordinarily said "Here in Richmond", but inasmuch as "Here" is the Fashionable West End of Henrico County, that would have been misleading...  ;)

I saw Santana in 2001 at a private concert in San Jose, they were fantastic.

Some of Richmond is definitely not fashionable.  We drove once from Blacksburg to William and Mary and I took a couple of wrong turns driving through there.

Carytown and Shockoe Slip are pretty hip.

Nice.  The DC suburbs were fertile ground for early doom metal bands (most notably The Obsessed and Pentagram)... :old:

Danica Roem?  She seems pretty good, though I don't follow VA state politics very closely.
