Haven't MC been a dominant team for like ten years now. I assume they got a big influx of money to compete.
MC is Arab oil money - Abu Dhabi.  Chelsea is Chelski with a Russian oligarch's money.  Man U I think is Glaser from Tampa Bay Buccs, Liverpool is Fenway Sports Group's second team.  Arsenal is Stan Kroenke who owns the Rams.  Spurs  are complicated.

Juventus is owned by the family that founded Fiat. AC Milan is US as well.

I'm picking a lot of this off of: https://www.reuters.com/lifestyle/sports/european-super-league-teams-owners-champions-league-records-2021-04-19/

[...]Arsenal is Stan Kroenke who owns the Rams.[...]

Kroenke is also an heir to the Walmart fortune (that's why he has so much scratch for owning two big-market sports clubs).

In the English league there are 6-8 teams that dominate most years and are never relegated. I suppose they are the richest. As best I can tell the other top euro leagues are each dominated by 2-3 teams.  Would be very boring for me to be a fan of the other teams.  Hope for an upset win or two of the top teams each year and to avoid relegation.  The EPL seems the champion is almost always decided a couple months before the season is over. I guess it’s what they grew up with but I like our sports leagues.
We went to 2 games in Turin a couple years ago.  One at Juventus and one at Turino FC.   The Turino FC game was such a better environment.  Much more singing and chanting, and taunting the opposing supporters who were caged in plexiglass.   The fans just seemed much more passionate and the big money Juventus stadium felt sterile and more like an American football game.   Although the Juventus supporters were on strike about something at the time, so that may have contributed.

I do like the idea of caging the opposing fans.   We saw them coming into town in buses with 50 police cars escorting them into their own barricaded entrance to go straight into their pen, and straight back out and out of town after.   Probably would be a good treatment for Phillies fans!

Super League is over...or is it? Big Six reportedly seeking to form new British super league by adding Celtic and Rangers: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-9497771/Premier-League-clubs-want-Rangers-Celtic-join-new-British-Super-League.html

Some disgraceful stuff at Old Tratford.  Imagine if JETS fans did that.  Well they did try and burn down the old stadium I guess.

Pulisic came oh so close to scoring in Champions League Final. I had no idea American men were so inept as to never places someone in a UCL final before.

Edit: I hate watching Chelsea win.

Most of his time was at Everton, and I guess Man U didn't get that far when he was there.

Watched most of regulation time in last night’s game.  But not the extra time. USA seems to have much more offensive skill than the past but the defense was a sieve.

Imagine what the reaction would be if USA fans went to another country and threw things at players and chanted homophobic slurs.

Was unnerving seeing someone die on the pitch. Whoever was in charge of broadcasting the chest compressions and zooming in on his face should be fired. Glad they were able to bring him back.

stable condition last I heard but was cardiac arrest.

watched Ingerland vs. Croatia.  Weird seeing the black patterned unis for the Croats but they could not wear red and white.  Won't talk results in case anyone taping.

Initially I hated the new format, but having four 3rd place teams go through on goal diff has grown on me a bit.  It adds a whole new dimension, even if it thins the gruel a bit in the early knockout rounds.

Croatia has definitely lost a step since the WC, Scotland might actually pull this off today.
