Every commentator's nightmare, in Ligue 1, this afternoon as Rennes (fr. pronounce 'Renn') play Reims (fr. pronounce 'Remm')....'so Remm give it away to Renn who go forward against Remm... :D (It's currently 1 - 0 to Remm...) ;)

Unfortunately, it looks like the wheels are really coming off for Clermont - on the wrong end of a 6 - 0 thrashing from Rennes....

We all love to root for these hopeless causes.  See Washington Nationals.

For those who follow the EPL, the BBC are currently showing 'Fever Pitch - The Rise Of The Premier League', over here. I don't know if, or when, it might be broadcast in the US (I assume on PBS). The series charts the first decade of the EPL, both on and off the pitch - well worth a look.

In an extremely entertaining Nations League semi-final, Spain defeated Italy 2 - 1, bringing Italy's world record run of 38 games unbeaten to an end.

Belgium and France now.

USMNT against Jamaica tonight. It’s on ESPN. Sometimes the games are on Fox. Sometimes on CBS. And now ESPN.  Crazy.  Hard to keep up with that.

Sunday night's game at Panama is apparently available on Paramount Plus (streaming service) and in Spanish on Universo (an NBC affiliate, I believe). Pain in the arse how there's no consistency, but I believe the home team gets to sell the TV rights, rather than CONCACAF managing it (which, I guess, is consistent with CONCACAF abdicating any authority on using VAR in the qualifying process).

Andorra 0 - England 5   A competent job, well done, against the group minnows - Andorra were, essentially, a ten-man defence for the entire game. Qualification looking ever more assured...

France win the Nations League, defeating Spain 2 - 1 - a late, and controversial, winner from Mbappe.

On a population basis they should hang their heads in shame, should have been 727 to 0

Anyone have thoughts on hernán losada with dc United?  I personally love what I’ve seen from him.  The pressing play is a welcome sight after having Ben Olson at the helm for far too long.  For those that haven’t tuned in this season, I highly recommend it.  They are playing some entertaining soccer over at Audi field

England 1 - Hungary 1   -  A hugely disappointing night, both on and off the pitch. England looking out-of-sorts, following some experimental selections from Southgate. Fortunately, not much damage done in terms of qualification. Unfortunately, the Hungary support added to their reputation by booing England, when they 'took-the-knee', and then clashing violently with police and stewards. :(

In the USA, tradition is to loot, climb walls, and overturn cars after your team plays in the championship, to celebrate or seek vengeance.

Cracking game, tonight, in the Europa League between Marseille and Lazio - if you couldn't watch live, the highlights will be worth a look. ;)

England 5 - Albania  0    Kane scores hat-trick as England all but secure qualification for Qatar - a draw, against San Marino ( :hysterical:) will suffice.

Dos a cero.  Nice.  Unfortunately they will be missing a couple players versus Jamaica next game due to yellow cards.  Nevertheless a nice game. Watched the first half and the USA had the better of the play although scoreless.  Three wins in a  row over Mexico.

France 8 - Kazakhstan 0   The defending champions qualify for Qatar - Mbappe becomes the first French player to score a hat-trick, in a competitive international, since Dominique Rocheteau in 1985.

I know what you mean but, yes, this was a 'competitive' game as-in 'something at stake' (generally tournament qualification), as opposed to a friendly.
