I'm curious to see how Davey puts the lineup together with two lefty power hitters to work with. Soto in the 2 hole? Bell in cleanup?

No sense speculating until we have a CO we know who’s playing third.

well, do you pencil in Castro at this point, either at 3d or 2d?  If you do, you could see something  like

1.  Turner - SS
2, Soto - RF
3. Castro - 3B / 2B
4. Bell - 1B
5. Gomes? - C
6. Stevenson - LF
7. Keiboom / Garcia - 3B /2B
8. Robles - CF
9. Pitcher

I suspect you see one more hitter picked up, maybe Suarez in a trade, maybe a free agent, who slots in at #5, dropping Gomes back to 6th or 7th.  Davey like his lefty / righty back and forth in the line up.

Still need another move.  But Bell is a nice, necessary piece.  Would love to get a big bag in corner outfield and let Stephenson compete for centerfield.

Oh, wait...he's a switch hitter! I overlooked that.

I hope he’s better than Espinoza at that.

Super excited for this move.  I was looking forward to seeing what Crowe could do, but this only adds to our offense.
I am sure someone has posted this before, but in the last full season of baseball, Bell was legit:
AB   R   H   RBI   BB   HR   SO    AVG     OPS
2019 Regular Season      527   94   146   116   74   37   118   .277   .367

Which is fine until you look at his numbers after May 2019.

I am guessing he will be better here.  For one thing, opponents won't be able to pitch around him.

Pretty cool story about Bell.

https://www.mlb.com/news/josh-bell-joins-athletes-against-antisemitism-panel

Quote
On Wednesday evening, Bell participated in the “Athletes Against Antisemitism” virtual event, organized by Pittsburgh Steelers offensive tackle Zach Banner. Speaking in the athlete portion of the panel, Bell was joined by Washington Mystics forward Alysha Clark. Bell spoke about experiencing racism as a child, and how he was impacted by the 2018 shooting at the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh.
...

For changes Bell would like to be a part of, he already has been brainstorming ways he can have a positive impact in the D.C. community.

“One of the things that stuck out to me was addressing food deserts,” Bell said. “The idea that finding a healthy meal is hard for certain people just because of where they live. A lot of that ties back into education. How they’re feeling in school is going to be reflected on their grades, what kind of schools they get into, if they’re going to even go to college.”

After such a strong ST.  The covid layoff clearly messed him up because he looks like Danny Espinosa up there.

Or maybe ST was just smoke and mirrors against minor league pitching

I just assume he's nursing an injury at this point in the season
