I'm sure Tatum meant to bank in the 3 off the glass. :)

One of the local Fox Soorts stations here in Orlando is now showing all the Toronto Raptors games. I guess because they are playing hole games in Tampa. Same station that shows the Lightning games.

I'm not a fan of the NBA, but Mark Jackson is such a great commentator that I'll listen to a broadcast just because of him.

It's funny. I think the emergence of these incredibly mobile and multi-skilled big men and the freer-flowing positions have made the game much more interesting than it was for about 25 years.  The rosters of assemble a big 3 and put your big 3 against mine, battle of the mastadons underneath, and who cares because the dominant superstar wins got too routine.  I'm loving watching guys like Giannis, bigs on the wings, and unbelievable range now. Pace is much better too.   I get frustrated a bit by too many 3s, and the "who does LeBron want to play with" goes against team loyalty for a fanbase, but the game is a terrific product.

When I was a kid (1960s) it was fairly common to have 125-120 games even without three point shots.  After that though the defenses just got so dominant that it did become more boring.  I'm getting to the point now though that I would like to see some more defense and more inside play.

I think we’re in a golden age personally- just the athleticism is entertaining, everyone on the floor can shoot and run now (at least on the best teams). I’d much weather this than watch centers post up the whole game

that's the crux of the Lebron vs Michael debate.  Jordan played a game in which defense, mid-range jump shots, and driving to the basket was more of a priority than 3 pointers. I still think Jordan would have been fine in today's game, but he would be a very different player.

Defense is much more important now than in the 90s- 3 and D is basically a new position unique to this era

Teams are scoring 10-15 more points per game than in the 90s. Different type of defense needed now. Defend the three.

Because teams have realized how counter productive mid range jumpers are- less terrible shots means a higher score

Seems to me offense is more important since more points being scored. Just like football.

If you look at the stats pace is also up.  Teams not only shoot more threes. They shoot quicker in the shot clock.

Jayson Tatum positive for COVID is why Beal was out Saturday.   Celtics have had tomorrow's game v Chicago postponed because they cannot meet the NBA minimum of 8 dressed players.  2 are otherwise injured (Kemba and Romeo Langford), Time Lord Williams and Tatum tested positive, and Jaylen Brown, Tristan Thompson, and 3 bench guys are out due to exposure either to Time Lord or Tatum. One other is also out.

It doesn't sound like the Wall-Harden relationship is off to a good start:

I think the Celts are still in trouble, and maybe the Heat.  Looks like that Wiz / Celts game last friday may have spread it around both teams.  Tatum and Beal hugged, and I think some of the other guards.  Smart had it in March or April, but I'm guessing his immunity is waning.
