The sixers are getting a star back. He’s a defense specialist paid like a super star
A 32 year old star.  And one who is breaking down with injuries as we have seen. For a 24 year old.

I miss typed- the sixers aren’t getting a star. A guard who can’t shoot is pretty marginal in today’s game

Didn't see the game but that was clearly a foul on Ayton for pulling Zubac' shirt as he rolled to the basket.

Trae Young will play tonight.  I am going to say that Milwaukee will win the series despite that.

Watched a replay of the second half. Holiday saved the day.

Giannis has been short of breath for a few games. His brother now seems to have Covid. Almost like Giannis has Covid but not testing positive.

He’s looked exhausted in every game I’ve seen him play in the playoffs but still manages to come through. Maybe it’s the pressure of having to rush his free-throws :)

Brook Lopez is an NBA champion, which makes Robin one as well.

Most interesting playoffs in a long time ago. Bidenholdzer and Giannis showed the doubters.

Not really, they went down against a bunch of teams and then pulled out series when the other team’s stars went down with injury. I can’t remember a team with an easier path through the playoffs

So who was injured on Phoenix?  Of course you also failed to mention that they lost DiVicenzo in the first round who was a starter. And then Giannis was hurt.  Missed games and then was hampered. They were underdogs against New Jersey and Phoenix.

In any event I said it was interesting.  Was never clear who the winners would be. I will take this over some super team marching on when everyone knows they will win.

Phoenix had the same path. Cool they lost DiVicenzo, totally equivalent to Kyrie and Harden and then Trae Young

you build around Kyrie, you deserve having him out when you need him.  It's a feature of Kyrie.

I fully expected Brooklyn vs the Clippers so this was a nice change. It was nice to see a team that wasn't built through FA acquisitions pick up a championship, and to see Giannis win. He's cementing himself in the discussion of greatest players of all time.

The experts all wanted him to leave because he could never win in Milwaukee and certainly not with Budenholzer as coach. Jrue Holiday put them over the top. Didn’t realize how good he was.

Of course Giannis was healthy and didn’t miss any games.  They couldn’t have overcome that.

this is the fist NBA championship that I can remember where both participants where there solely because they stayed healthy

edit, here are were the odds heading into the playoffs https://www.sportsbettingdime.com/news/nba/updated-2021-championship-odds-all-16-playoff-teams/

bucks to win +800, Phoenix +2500. It took a string of injuries for them to get to the finals. It was great watching Giannis, but I like watching the best teams go head to head not a team turning around a series when the other team's star goes down

Betting odds are there for betting. Phoenix was the best team in the west all year. Many thought the Lakers would beat them round one which was misguided. Milwaukee had high odds because of past failures. Some experts thought Miami would take them in round one.

Injuries are part of the game. Who knew that Kyrie would be hurt again. Or that a guy clearly overweight and out of shape during the year would get hurt.

Phoenix beat the lakers without Davis and with LeBron missing games, Denver without Murray, and then the Clippers without Kawhi. I can't remember a run being more influenced by injuries
