Harden to the Nets
Quote
Adrian Wojnarowski
@wojespn
Reporting w/ @ramonashelburne: Brooklyn’s acquiring James Harden in a three-way deal with Cleveland. Caris LeVert, Dante Exum, Rodions Kurucs, four 1st round picks – including Cavs’ 2022 first via Bucks -- and 4 Nets pick swaps to Rockets. Jarrett Allen, Taurean Prince to Cavs.

The Athletic further reports that the Pacers are sending Victor Oladipo to the Rockets for package around Caris LeVert

Here is a chart to keep track.  Oladipo is probably a good fit with John Wall.

So Brooklyn still really, really doesn't like draft picks.  This is for as little as 2 years of Harden.  I guess if they get a ring out of this, they won't mind, but if they bust after 2 years, this will keep Houston going like the Pierce / Garnett deal deal did for Boston.

I don't know which was a bigger jaw-dropper.  Hitting the 3 with 15 seconds left, possession clock expiring, over a mobile center (Theis), or the buzzer beater 3 on the last possession, bringing the ball up and avoiding Kemba and Nesmith closing late.

This is why I am really liking the NBA now.  The bigs are just so athletic and capable of doing so much more than the old big lugs underneath.  I kind of liked the balance of inside / outside in the 80s a bit more, but this is fun now.

That can be about an hour right there with replays etc.

What did everyone think of the Elam Ending used in the All-Star game? Personally, I love it. Cuts down on the interminable end of games with fouls and free throws.

Don’t watch all star games anymore. The players don’t take it seriously so neither do I.

I didn't watch the game. How did it play out at the end? I wonder if some teams would still be tempted to foul on the idea that they could more easily come back by forcing the other team to shoot free throws that they would hopefully miss.  I'm not sure how I feel about the Elam Ending, for all the games in which it would eliminate the incessant end-of-game fouling, it would also have meant we'd never have last second buzzer beaters that are the stuff of legends.

I did watch the 3 point competition, Curry made it look so easy.

Jayson Tatum goes for 60 tonight vs. Spurs.  143-140 Celts in OT.  Spurs blew a 29 point halftime lead.

Not likely to happen but would be fun to see the Lakers lose out in the play-in.
