Betting odds are there for betting. Phoenix was the best team in the west all year. Many thought the Lakers would beat them round one which was misguided. Milwaukee had high odds because of past failures. Some experts thought Miami would take them in round one.

Injuries are part of the game. Who knew that Kyrie would be hurt again. Or that a guy clearly overweight and out of shape during the year would get hurt. 

Phoenix beat the lakers without Davis and with LeBron missing games, Denver without Murray, and then the Clippers without Kawhi. I can't remember a run being more influenced by injuries
