Ok. Thanks.  But I assume those exact rankings are debated among their staff for weeks.  And I do believe need factors into many of those decisions.

I would imagine so

I mean you don’t draft a HS arm for the floor. Jackson Jobe has the best single pitch in the draft, 3 pitches graded above 60. He’s a really great prep prospect.

You don't, but with slotted bonus and a capped pool, teams are much more aware of floors.  You can't take a shotgun strategy (cough, Yankees) of essentially buying three first round picks by splashing cash to bribe HS arms out of commitments in rounds 1-3 and hoping one or two of them hit, in which case you look fine.  Now, you look like poo if your first round pick busts.

i've been in the yankees draft room a few times. pretty boring but lots of food and snacks and i had a lot of fun just chatting with baseball guys. learned a lot. FWIW they have all their scouts in the room, no one is in a suit (LOL)

they basically have every player in the draft ranked on 3-4 literal boards at the front of the room. its actually really boring for most of the day/night.

I'm not sure where I want the team to go. I'm generally, BPA is the best way to go. But I dont know if there is a consensus BPA at 11 unless one of the top 8 fall.

I dont think any of the three college bats, Cower, Frelic, or McLain have big time upside. I lie Cowser the best as I think he has the best hit tool, and has better power potential. I dont mind Bachman, Madden, or Bednar but I dont think any are likely front line guys.

This may be the year where you grab a guy who takes less, to allow you to go higher in rounds 2 and 3. I dont think there's a major difference between any of those 3 hitters or pitchers. Its not like taking any of them is taking a 5th round talent in the 1st. The.talent from 11-25 could probably go in a number of directions. Ive see. Bednar and Bachman ranked from 10-12 or as low as 27-32.

I'd probably lean Cowser just because the system is so devoid of bats that could impact the upper levels in the next year or two. There will he high upside guys still available after round one to grab some arms to develop. If one of the top 8 fall though, I'd go there.

Cowser and frelick seem likely to end up halfway between Andrew Stevenson and Brett Gardner to me.

Give me a guy with big time power potential

We have similar reads it seems. I’m haven’t seen Bednar rated that high but loved him in the CWS obviously. Nails.

Latest mlb.com mock:

11. Nats
Callis: Will Bednar, RHP, Mississippi State
The Nationals also want a crack at Jobe or Rocker and if that doesn't happen, they'll apparently stick with righties: Bednar (who helped himself as much as anyone at the College World Series while earning Most Outstanding Player honors and beating Rocker in the finale), Madden and Bachman.

Mayo: Ty Madden, RHP, Texas
College arms get most of the buzz here, with Madden the best of the lot, though College World Series hero Will Bednar could be in the mix, as could Sam Bachman. There’s been a little buzz about high school catcher Joe Mack here.

Sounds like a fine pick.

But if every pick is going to take 30 or 30 minutes...

I guess I should've been clearer. In the days leading up, I saw Bednar going from 10-12 in some mocks, not necessarily ranked there. 15th mightve been the highest I saw him ranked individually.

But that CWS performance definitely was huge. I'd have no issues with him being the pick. I was originally a Watson fan, but hes moved himself out of our range most likely.
