So hopefully Laviolette trots out a skeleton crew for the Flyers.  Rather play the Islanders anyways.

No. If they finish second they probably play Boston who is in third place.  Have to go for first.  The Flyers are a mess.

Upper Body Injury as a result of the scrums...
In other words, the Caps are protecting him

Rangers fined $250,000 for Tuesday's little Twitter stunt. Buchnevich has a disciplinary hearing scheduled (don't know whether they offered in-person, which is relevant to possible length of suspension).

What a nagy little leg-humping team they have become  :P

Sean Avery must have permanently affected their DNA.

No surprise: Laviolette said Samsonov is on the COVID protocol list. While he already had COVID in January, the league's rules require that a player be placed in the protocol if he is exposed to someone else who may have it (this presumably to ensure he can't then spread it to other players).

Got to wonder if they'll expose him in the expansion draft if the coaches are getting fed up with these sorts of things.

It's time for Kuzy to find new surroundings as well.  Exposing a top line center to the expansion draft doesn't make sense, but trading him and some or all of that $7.8MM cap hit certainly does.

I think Kuzy is a goner and Samsonov as well.

It does seem that he's as good as gone.  I really wonder what's going through Ovie's head right now.

With Kuzy it's probably frustration that his buddy hasn't matured enough yet but to be fair this is always who Kuzy has been. He's never changed, but in 2018 he was just otherwordly on the ice.

With Samsonov probably disappointment that such a promising young career is so derailed but self-inflicted actions.

If Backstrom hadn't just reupped I'd be a bit worried right now about Ocho's overall frame of mind.

Looking forward to seeing Cam York make his debut for the Flyers.  They passed over Cole Caufield for him which seems a mistake but he looked good at Michigan and in the international junior tournament when I saw him play.  He was captain of the USA this winter.  Flyers dress Sam Morin also to keep Wilson from any smart stuff.   :hysterical:

Flyers have cornered the market on Gingers.  Giroux and Voracek.  And now Wade Allison and York.  And Gritty of course.

That was funny to hear Laughlin say it was not a kicking motion.

Caps only had to win 2 of the last 3 to clinch first place and they choke against the Phliars tonight.  Anderson in net tomorrow?  Too soon to bring The King back?

Pens won so they need to win both games.  Not optimal but let's get the playoffs started.  I bet $1.65 on the Caps to win $1.01. But will be watching the Wiz.

If they lose they will probably play Boston.

I'm trying to think of Caps ivy alums.  I think Volpatti was from Brown, can't remember the last Cap who played for Harvard.  Captain Jeff was Princeton IIRC.  Must have been some Cornellians in there somewhere.

And then there was the great academic, Alexander Semin.  "Metallurgy of Non-Ferrous Metals at Siberian Federal University"

the Caps signed a Yalie from Herndon in March 2019, Joe Snively, as a free agent. Only played 28 games this year, so I don't know if he's packed it in.

Edit - looks like it's 28 because it is a short season.  he's still playing as of last night and got a goal.
