freakin' punk Frederic thinks he's hot crap...he just got 17 minutes in penalties so it's not likely we'll get an opportunity to really kick his ass with the time remaining tonight...

Worth waiting to see if they put him back out there anyway...

The playoffs in the division after playing teams so often are going to be wars this year. Like the original 6.

Awful hit. No excuse for going after someone’s head.
If it was Marchand I would be ok with it.

if you went head to head with Marchand, I'm sure he'd lick you.

The hit on Carlo looked bad. Wilson didn't hit him with the stick, but he was also holding the stick way high in his gloved hands when he made contact with Carlo's head.  I don't think you can get called for a high stick on that, but it was darn close to a 5 minute major for that, on top of everything else.

TBH, these games are great but it's unnecessarily chippy.  The spear to the cubes should have been worth a suspension on top of the $5K, and of course the Bruins did their share of provoking, too. I like heavy hits, but there was some chicken[poop] both ways.  These teams are great to watch, but I could see neutrals disliking both.

Meanwhile, I thought Bergeron's assist on the first goal, the one handed pass while holding off the check, was brilliant.  They don't lose anything, might even get a plus, when Krejci moves up to the 1st line, but Bergeron is such a complete player.

Frederic is responsible for this spate of hate...the little, "I now have 4 points in my 38 game NHL career" jerk.  The Caps tried to ignore him thinking he'd go away, but now they've let him get into their head...

Ovi should have dropped his punk ass when he was given the opportunity on a silver platter.  If Cassidy doesn't reel him in...I think he's gonna get hurt...badly...

depends on where you sit as to who is responsible, but I'm not going to disagree that Frederic needs to have his head on a swivel and fight better if he's going to be a physical-first guy.

Oh, and as for his point total, yes, it's early.  The Bs have been very top heavy for a few years.  After the Perfection Line, I think Krug, and maybe Krejci and DeBrusk, were their next biggest point sources.  I think the lack of distributed offense is their second biggest weakness behind inexperience on defense now.  Shutdown the first line (or have them take themselves out through penalties) and the production isn't there. They've been adding a lot of forwards the past couple of years (Coyle, Ritchie, Wagner) but they really don't see much from the 2d and 3d line.  Big advantage to the Caps on that.

Oh, and pretty cool to hear that last night there were 18 college hockey players dressed between the 2 teams.

I wish Willy could just reel it in a little like Lucic managed to do.  Being a panzer of a power forward is less of an asset when you are always serving out a suspension.

Should be a normal run of the mill game tonight, right?

His impulse control is somewhat wanting.  Hopefully this will spring Sprong.

Hair-trigger and over the top in the world's most frustrating game.
