In 2015 I won free tickets to a Wilmington Blue Rocks game in a raffle. My wife and I booked a nice hotel in Wilmington for the weekend of the game, we even invited a friend from NYC with us who came down on the Amtrak. And then...it rained hard that entire weekend. Blue Rocks games were all cancelled.

I had good food in Wilmington, checking out the restaurants was about the only thing I could do. There was a great $2-per-taco place for budget fare, and we had a great meal at a high-end Chilean restaurant.

Maybe now I'll actually go see a game.

Sorry to read that your games got cancelled.  I hate when that happens.  Thanks for the other info.  I plan to check them out when things get back to some form of normal.

I live up here in North Delaware so I have more motivation now to go to these games whenever we can finally do that.

Daughter and I will be going. Will try to pull sister-in-law, who lives in Emmittsburg, near Frederick. Wife is Dutch, watches only soccer.

I'll post when we go to Wilmington in hopes we can meet.

You are in luck because the best Cheese Steaks belong to North Delaware, not Philly.

Absolutely. We used to go to the Arden subshop, now closed, and to the Claymont subshop. The best. I can't find a web address for the Claymont shop except for a Claymont subshop down in Newark. Wondering if Covid-19 killed the main restaurant, leaving only the place down near U of Delaware.

I know they have one on Route 202.

BTW if you haven't been to Johnnie's Dog House, that is also on 202

Claymont sub shop is gloriously open. Actual name, which I had mis-remembered, is Claymont Steakshop. The best anywhere.

We had Pats Steaks back in May. Disappointed. Very dry.

I was never a fan of the Whiz. Provolone is much better.  But at the moment I just cracked open a bottle of Chianti (Aldi $4.99 a bottle :mg:) with some Bel Gioloso parmesan, and some grapes.

Meat was dry.  Unforgiveable offense.
