Eh, the Yankees dont have anything that would recoup the value
One of their top pitching prospects.

Pass

Garcia is 5'9"
Schmidt has an injury history that screams reliever to me

Frankly, the Yankees prospects are always overrated.

Like Robles?
Like putting guys in the top 75 who if they were in the Dbacks system,  wouldnt have made the top 100.

Robles hasnt developed, but he was scouted by many orgs as having elite capabilities. Most still think he can improve and he's already shown that he can be an elite defender. I dont think of him as overrated as much as taking longet to develop.

Garcia is 5'9" has a good curveball, meh control, and a low 90s, flat fastball. Im just really suspicious of a small, short pitcher being able to handle 30 or more starts. And tradinv Robles should net you more than a back of the rotation/middle relief pitcher.

Im fine of those are part of the package, but if theyre the main piece, its a waste of time

So, it would seem, it would be a waste of time waiting for Robles to develop.  He may not be a bust, but he is a disappointment.  We'll non-tender him at some point...just like MAT...

If Rizzo commits to a shakeup, you're holding on to Robles? Who else?

Soto

Who else is under contract for the next three years that anyone would want?

MAT is hitting .231 with 5 homers and 25 RBIs, 28 runs scored plus 4 stolen bases. OPS of .611, with OBP of .283 and SLG of .328.

(For comparison, Robles has a higher OBP of .340 but a SLG of .306. No home runs, .224 average, 7 stolen bases, 8 RBIs, 21 runs scored.)

Sadly, I wonder if Stevenson might be a better starting CF than Robles, whenever Stevenson returns. Or how long it will take for Robles to learn to hit.

fWAR 1.1, but that's not bad. Most of the positives are defense and playing regularly.  Offense is the negative, but we know negative CF offense

20% of his home runs are off Lucas Giolito, I believe.

MAT says "hello": hitting .238 with 10 home runs, 42 RBI's and 10 stolen bases, a .649 OPS for a 2.3 WAR in Baseball Reference. All for $1.75 million this year.

So if they had him in CF they would have two more wins. Great!!

Some team will give him more money next year and he will disappoint.

Well they should;t call it wins above replacement then.  Robles is 0.1 wins so I subtracted that.
