Average margin of victory is misleading, for the beginning teams were not at the same calibre .  So the overall average is distorted

True, but look again at their last three wins:

Arkansas - 9
Houston - 19
Gonzaga - 16

That's pretty freaking impressive IMHO. Since 1990's UNLV 39 point romp over Duke in 1990, Baylor's 16 point win agains Gonzaga is second only to Villanova blowing out Michigan by 17 in 2018, UNC beating Michigan State by 17 in 2009, and tied with Florida beating UCLA by 16 in 2006.  However, none of those games involved the #1 team in the country, previously unbeaten, losing. (Michigan State and UCLA were #2s in their bracket, Michigan was a #3.). Heck, Duke was a #3 in 1990 as well.

My point is that Baylor should be considered among the all-time great teams and it doesn't seem like the are being thought of in that way.

I think people will chalk this up to Gonzaga once again being overrated. I think Baylor would be getting more play if they did this over an unbeaten Kentucky/Villanova/Duke...

Mike Jones leaves Radford for UNC Greensboro after a decade, replacing the coach there who left for Cincinnati.

I heard he played in high school with Suggs, who declared already for the nba draft.
He’ll be in the draft next year.

Easily one of THE most thankless roles any coach could take, and it wouldn’t matter who took the job. Any time you follow a longtime legendary coach, you’re going to have a tough time of it. Same thing happened at both UNC and Georgetown, for example.

Same thing happened at Maryland. Replaced a legend with a bona fide turd and here we are 10 years later. Thanks Kevin Anderson.

Scheyer won’t last long. And then they will cycle through some bigger name coaches in search of the glory they can never recapture.  Should be fun.

They did the same thing with the football team.  The Fridge was a Maryland legend...and they flushed the program down the drain when the gave him the ax...and they just keep digging a deeper hole...

Brad Stevens should be available again by then...

But does it still depend on the school's reputation and recruiting ability ?

Coach K is Duke basketball.  He is the chief recruiter and he made the reputation.

Yes they all coach.

Amaker coached at Michigan for a while and has been at Harvard for about ten year.
Dawkins is at UCF.
Hurley was at Buffalo and now Arizona State.

Quinn Snyder has always been my pick. Certainly not going to leave his current job now. But NBA is fickle. In 3-4 years, who knows?

UNC, Kentucky, Kansas have all gone through rough patches with coaches who couldn’t live up to the school’s standards

I think you’d rather replace the guy who replaces the legend than be the guy who replaces the legend. I could see it in a few years

Yes. UNC survived Matt Doherty. Kentucky survived Billy Gillespie (who is now coaching at Tarleton State).

Kansas went from Larry Brown to Roy Williams to Bill Self. Not bad.
