this has been a historically good run, to go through and beat the top teams in the west, and beat the Lakers after trailing by 17, in LA, is pretty remarkable.

Caught a break with Davis out for the Lakers. Doesn’t get easier tonight. I see a blowout loss coming.

I was right about that Clippers game. But they bounced back last night.

I guess we are seeing Rui stepping up.  I loved that pick at the time.

Wiz hanging on against the best team in basketball. There are some nights this team looks like world beaters, and sometimes when they look like the Wizards

https://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/2021/03/25/wizards-trade-moritz-wagner-troy-brown/

Wagner and Brown for Daniel Gafford (22) and Chandler Hutchinson.

Quote
In Gafford, Washington acquired a 6-foot-10 big man who averaged 4.7 points and 3.3 rebounds in modest minutes in 31 games with the Bulls this season. The Arkansas product is under contract for two years beyond this season.

Hutchison, a 6-foot-6 wing, lands with the Wizards the more unknown quantity. A first-round pick in 2018, Hutchison has played just 79 career games and has played for the Bulls just seven times this year, last playing on Feb. 5. He averaged 1.9 points and 2.9 rebounds in his scant time on court this season.[/quote

The article said that they had declined an option on Wagner at the start of the year, so it looks like this was mostly a move for a young big man they could control. Brown is blocked here.

Brown was a bad draft pick.  Not athletic. Doesn’t do anything particularly well.

Wagner in turn sent to the Celtics for Daniel Theis.  Salary cap relief for Cs.  This is one to talk about over beers in Munich.

The Westbrook trade is looking like a steal for DC.

Tonight: First 35+ point, 20+ assist triple-double in NBA history
▪️ NBA-record 4th 20+ point, 20+ assist triple-double

He’s still incredibly inefficient on most nights. And not good on defense. Like the rest of the team.

Cruising to the lottery, but without good odds. Definitely a Wizards style trade win

There's really no excuse for this team to be this bad given the talent they have. Brooks should have been gone a long time ago.

Agree on Brooks but what talent? Other than Beal and Westbrook. Neither of whom play defense.

Beal and Westbrook, with the supporting cast, should be enough to at least have them in a position to contend for a playoff spot.  We've seen a few runs in which they looked like world beaters (that west coast swing a few weeks ago for example), but then they fall apart. Not playing defense is on Brooks as much as it is the players.

Brooks should bench Beal and Westbrook to set an example.

I just don’t seem much talent in the front court. Bertans is stealing 18 million a year.

he has looked bad. Hachimura and Avdija have shown some promise. Still with Beal and Westbrook I'd expected at least a .500 club.

Westbrook may be the most overrated player in the league. He's a guard who doesn't shoot many 3s and isn't particularly efficient with the shots he does take.
