Billy Beane Era Over?
« Topic Start: October 15, 2020, 11:10:24 AM »
It looks like Billy Beane is taking a break from baseball.

Does this change anything, or has everyone else copied him to this point?

Is there anyone else, at least since Branch Rickey, who has fundamentally changed baseball as much as he has?

Henry has always wanted him.  Offered him the GM slot before Theo and when Theo left.  Apparently, the idea here is to cash out some of the Red Sox, Roush Racing, NESN, and maybe Liverpool, and then use the case to pick up additional teams.  I think Beane's entity already owns some lower division European soccer teams.

Gonna re-watch "Moneyball," in his honor.
