https://www.nhl.com/news/matt-niskanen-announces-retirement-from-nhl/c-319306840Left some money on the table.
He should have stuck around for a buyout...would have been 2/3rds of his 2020/2021 contract value.
Hank to the Caps?
seems like the best fit for us, too. hank-samsonov is a great, great duo next year.
Isn’t he going to cost quite a bit more than comparable guys who will cost less?
Nate Schmidt is headed to the Vancouver Canucks to reunite with Beags and Holts...https://www.nhl.com/news/golden-knights-trade-nate-schmidt-to-canucks/c-319441516?sf130325167=1&fbclid=IwAR12DC50-e_4mYzExu3Z5HG28KhwV1GKXiC9P5X4k-rKFFFQGNJVj9mxbGAVery strange...salary dump to make room for Pietrangelo, or do they figure Seattle might take him anyway if he wasn't protected, or his act got old, or...?Defenseman has five seasons remaining on six-year contract; Vegas gets 2022 third-round choiceI'm guessing it was the 5 years remaining on his $5.95 million average annual value deal....
I believe they are way over the cap and have to unload contracts. https://www.cbc.ca/1.5759841
Yes...by signing Pietrangelo for 7 years at $8.8MM per...Schmidty had to go, even though they got virtually nothing in return. I question the deal...
Doc retires. Probably a good thing as I think he has slipped in recent years. Good luck to him. Now if they could just get Pierre to leave. https://www.espn.com/nhl/story/_/id/30146520/mike-doc-emrick-retiring-hockey-play-play-broadcaster
Aw man. I've been listening to Doc call games since he was with Bill Clement, and John Davidson after that. His voice, to me, has always been synonymous with hockey. He'll be missed.(I agree about Pierre - Clement was my favorite color guy)If you haven't watched his farewell video, check it out at https://twitter.com/NHLonNBCSports/status/1318176974251216899
Thorne & Clement were terrific...by far the best duo. Folks point to Thorne's gaffes, but he was silky smooth...not irritating...like FP.Maybe we'll get lucky and FP will take a cue from Doc and retire...
or start doing the caps as well as long as he's in dc year-round
That would be quite the show.
Found this from when Doc started out on the Flyers broadcasts with legend Gene Hart. Now he is the legend.
I guess he's related to Harold Ramis in some way?
