Maybe they can get a return on the Matz trade.

At least we won’t have to face him as often if he was a Met

Bauer got a 3/102 contract. He can opt out every year.

Bauer’s contract breaks down to 45 million in first year and 40 million in second. He has an opt out after each year. So very doubtful he stays for that third year, but it’s an nice fallback to be guaranteed 17 million bucks even if you suck.

Bauer is now the highest paid highest paid player in baseball.

$40MM in 2021 and $45MM in 2022...I guess to try and keep him for at least 2 years...

Ozuna cashed the freak in on an amazing 2020 season. It would be hard to see him living up to his new Braves contract.

4/65 with a team option for the 5th year for a total of 80 if exercised.

He’ll live up to it when the DH gets here.

They are underpaying Acuna so they can afford to overpay Ozuna.

Eh, I think they're being diplomatic. Bauer could be opting out next year, and if the Mets dont make a deep playoff run, Cohen is going to want to spend more. With Syndergaard and Stroman free agents next offseason, pitching will be a high priority for the Mets

With the Bauer contract I'm hoping that the Dodgers won't be able to re-sign Justin Turner. C'mon Rizzo perform your magic.

you know how this works in terms of CBT threshold?  I assume it goes as $34MM a year until he opts out, and then they take a hit the next year to make up the difference between the hit the prior years of his contract and what was actually laid out.  This contract seems designed for him to opt out after 2.

Cordero could be useful in Fenway, meaning he hits a lot of popups that will go over the Monster.

Marvelous Marwin Gonzalez goes to the Red Sox for cheap.  1 year, $3MM, with incentives.  FWIW, FG's median prediction was 2 years, $16MM.

Justin Turner returns to the Dodgers which was a surprise to no one other than a few people here.
