The WNBA team was already called the Rockers.  That's why it won't happen.

...and the Rockers were the first WNBA team to fold (following 2003 season).

I guess the Cleveland John Rockers would be a non-starter?

Go with Rockers, but have the mascot be a rocking chair

Manny Ramirez signs with the Sox. That's the Sydney Blue Sox of the Australian Baseball League. 48 years old. :old:

They could hire hire Marty Janetty and Shawn Michaels as in-stadium entertainment.  Maybe their version of the Presidents/Sausage race that would always end with Michaels throwing Janetty through a window?

And have John Rocker on color commentary.

Probably still pass. I'm a big DJLM fan but he's really succeeded in extreme hitter-friendly environments. I'd rather have a 3-year deal but that seems pretty unrealistic.

Quote
The prospective deal that would send Blake Snell to San Diego would be centered around top pitching prospect Luis Patiño, sources tell ESPN. Also in the deal, as
@dennistlin
reported, would be catcher Francisco Mejia, pitcher Cole Wilcox and Blake Hunt, a young catcher.

Wow. That's a haul.

So the Padres added Blake Snell and Yu Darvish to their rotation, and they still have McKenzie Gore and CJ Abrams

So basically, this was the year that the Cubs jerked Bryant around to keep.

Final terms:
Darvish and Caratini to the Padres
Zach Davies, plus prospects (shortstop Reginald Preciado, outfielder Owen Caissie, outfielder Ismael Mena, and shortstop Yeison Santana) to Chicago.

The guys the Cubs got from the Padres were going to be ranked 15, 17, 18, and 20 in the Padres system in the next edition of the prospect rankings.

Hell of a day to be a Padres fan.

Not sure what you were expecting. Darvish is going to be 35 next season and still had 60 million left on his contract. He didnt have a lot of value.
