Sounds like he would be a great mentor.

Sverluga’s book said Soto patterned himself after cano, hopefully not to the PED extreme.

How?
By definition.  It's all a matter of your perspective.  They hired Cano as a cheater and it tainted the entire organization.  My perspective is that the Mets enabled him to continue to be the cheater that he's always been.  They let him "do his thing".  Now they're being rewarded, which is just wrong.

That is a strange viewpoint. I was unaware that baseball teams are able to enable cheating so much.

6-3 basically said all teams are responsible for their players' PED use. Sounds like a bit of a stretch to me.

Unless there is as much evidence of the Mets helping Cano take PEDs as there was of the Astros helping their players cheat, not sure why teams should be held responsible. If anything, teams should be able to voids parts of contracts of PED users

Just saw that.  Might as well give up on the division now.

Something that will certainly affect free agent spending, if true.

they cut their front office as well.  I imagine most teams lost a ton.  The question is how confident ownership will be of a return to the parks next summer presuming there's wide vaccine distribution by the early summer.

2 years, $15 MM.

May, 31, becomes the first prominent reliever to come off the board. The longtime Twins righty bounced back from Tommy John surgery that wiped out his 2017 season to become a reliable, late-inning power arm in Minnesota and one of the game’s foremost strikeout pitchers.

What a crap show Middleton has brought to Philly.

Edit. Middleton has denied this but often where there is smoke there is fire.

Part of the Phillies Baby Aces from early last decade. Talk about overhype.

Maybe, but he seems to have developed into a good reliever. Something thr Nats haven't really done

Ha-Seong Kim, 25 y.o. SS, KBO Kiwoom Heroes, posted.  Can play SS but also could play 2d or 3d.
https://www.mlb.com/news/ha-seong-kim-posted-for-mlb-teams
Quote
Kim is coming off a season in which he posted career highs in home runs (30) and OPS (.921) over 138 games.
...
Kim is often compared to Kang, his predecessor as the Heroes' starting shortstop. Kang was a superior power hitter -- he posted an .867 OPS for the Pirates in 2016 -- but Kim is the stronger contact hitter, better defender and more athletic overall.

Dane Dunning plus a minor league recently drafted LHP out of Arizona.
Amazing what happens when you sell high on a player

Carlos Santana to the Royals, 2 years, 17 million

Who would have thought the Royals would be big spenders in free agency . . .
