the players suffered no financial consequences

No immediate financial consequences, maybe.  You think their market value didn't change?  Who here want's to spend big to add Springer to the Nats?  Are the Dodgers gonna offer any of them a contract?

Do the guys in the mist of a mega contract care?

The players dropped dime...they are forever tarnished, as is the franchise's 2017 World Series title...

Cora cooked up the scheme...he deserved worse than what he got as well...
It will be hard to tell how much players lost as there are other reasons the market is slowing down.  Stroman and Gausman taking QOs shows they knew no one was going to offer them a decent longer term deal.

Jose Altuve will come up SHORT in his next contract.

Meanwhile maybe WNFF could get him as a speaker?

You keep moving the goal posts...as usual...  ;)

Think of it this way...the players went into witness protection.  Some will be fine, though looking over their shoulders 24-7...others will be whacked...

And a two year contract with SD who got him on the cheap I think.  $2 million for him to sit out in 2021 and $6.5 million in 2022.

Theo steps down from the Cubs.  He had a year left on his deal.

Not helping much anymore. Of course my meds don’t all work as well as they used to. It’s tough getting old.

I would be surprised if he paid 24 million for PEDs. Probably only a million.

I see that he has two more years on his contract after 2021.  LOL Mets.

Got ya.  He won't need PEDs this year so at least he can cut some expenses.

Is it true that the Mets get off scot-free?  They don't even have to pay MLB any of Cano's 2020 salary (as a fine/penalty).  Now they can take that money and buy more assets.  That's NOT FAIR!

Doesn't it still count against the cap?

Sounds fair to me. They had nothing to do with it.

That would be a masterstroke.  Let him play in the odd doubleheader and off the bench...sticking the Mutts with the bill is reason enough to do this.  Worst case scenario is he gets caught again (given his learning curve, this seems likely).
