Max and his sorry bums MUST knock the despicable Mets out of playoff contention.

Note: The last game Max pitched he got SCREWED big time.

The Mets aren’t making the playoffs no matter what the Nats do.

One freaking home run and they think Hernandez is a cleanup hitter?

1. Will the Mets still be "in the hunt" at the start of Game 1 tomorrow?

2.  If so, will this be a classic Max vs.  deGrom showdown?

Bumping for today's game 1 (game 2 of the series):

New York Metropolitans at Washington Nationals, Game 2 of a 4-Game Series, 1st Game of a Double-Header
When: Saturday, September 26, 2020, 3:05 p.m.
Where: Nationals Park
Weather: at game time, 72°, cloudy, 5% chance of precipitation, 80% humidity.

Winds are supposed to be light, so probably no significant effect on the path of fly balls. The high humidity will make them travel farther, though.

The only change to yesterday's lineups posted above by sixthree175 is DeGrom as the Mets starter. Both offensive lineups are the same, and it is still Scherzday.

Shouldn't the title of the thread read "Nationals vs Mets"?   :couch:

I noticed that there are other past games using the incorrect title.

Don't shoot me...just stating the established protocol...  ;)

I assume only an admin/mod or the thread author can change a thread title. I don't think any of them are on-line here right now.

More importantly, no first inning homer obstacle to overcome. Not that Max does not often overcome that obstacle.

Why isn’t Cabrera in the lineup for the third game in a row. I thought he would at least pinch hit in Thursday’s game in the 9th

Back in the first inning, I was going to ask you guys what you thought the over/under would be on whether Max would give up a home run before reaching 3 Ks. I figured both events could easily happen in the first inning. Seems it took until the third.
