I just woke up after pulling an all-nighter. Other than apparently another desultory offensive effort, what did I miss?

Quality start for Corbin in his last appearance of the season.

Why is Annibal Sanchez doing our pitching coaches jobs?
Lonely? Last season, on off days, he used to hang out in the dugout with Parra, didn't he?

I don't know that any rational decisions can be made based on this dumpster fire of a "season" of baseball. The Nats are now 23-34 after 57 games. Last year's WS winning team was 24-33 after 57 games.

Rendon and some others are gone. Others getting older.

Mr Magoo can see that this is a bad team right now.

I agree. My only point was, if you are one game off of your WS-winning pace after 57 games in a normal 162-game season, you are thinking about which players are coming back from the IL as the season progresses, what's available at the trade deadline, etc., and making decisions based thereupon. If you are firing the manager, you are just scapegoating.

After winning the World Series he is not going anywhere for a few years.

Agreed. Davey deserves an extension.

Davey is sort of in the John Farrell position. Farrell won a world series his first year, and that bought him 4 more years.

I don't think I have gotten into any discussion about a managers tenure with the team since Williams and understanding why Rusty wasn't renewed. It's not like davey has aged like Sherzer or gotten injured like Stras , Castro or had brain farts like Difo , Garcia , Sanchez that cost us runs. The critiisizm should be directed at the roster construction and the belief that we should keep it intact , as much as possible and financially prudent , that won the WS. Rizzo couldn't for see the injuries and aging that has taken its' toll. The absense of Rendon and Kiebusts inability to produce a small percntage of Rendons production really handicapped the team. Davey deserves an extension.
