Neither Garcia or Kieboom have done anything to deserve a starting spot.

I don't disagree with your other statements but I would not count Garcia out yet.

Team really needs a hitter with power.  George Springer?

Bob Kraft?

I was thinking more of Fast Times at Ridgemont High.

At least drive up the price for the Mets.

Not sure what other deals he will get. Offer him three years.

Isn't the CBA expiring next year?  That should be interesting.
this - I wouldn't be shocked to see an almost dead free agent market across baseball. The owners bled money this season and next season isn't looking much better right now

MLBTR projection is $4.5 to $8.5 million.  I imagine they don't lock him up now with all the uncertainty.

Other projections for Nats FAs:

Joe Ross – $1.5MM
Trea Turner – between $9.4MM - $16.6MM

anyone know how they are counting service time this year?  Do they get the equivalent of a 162 game schedule? (so 2.7 games for every game played?)

Never mind - 2.8 days for every day they were in the majors this year.

There isn't much available for power hitters .

Marcus Stroman for SP.

Maybe DJ Lemahieu as a 1B/2B option?

Joc Peterson as a righty masher?

Zach Britton, Brad Hand, Alex Colome, Kirby Yates, Liam Hendricks for the pen.

DJ Lemahieu, James McCann and Joc Peterson. DJ would be perfect.  He would give Garcia and Kieboom more time to develop and play 1B and 2B. Peterson can hit righties as a 1B and RF. McCann can platoon with Gomes.

C- McCann / Gome
1B- LeMahieu / Peterson
2B- Castro / Lemahieu
3B- Garcia / Castro
SS- Turner
LF- Soto
CF- Robles
RF- Peterson / Stevenson

If we spend big on anybody, it will be a SP.  Bauer has said he'd consider 1-year deals each year, although I believe he'll cash in on the year he just had.  There are questions with all of our "Big 3," and Rizzo has always built around pitching.  I think Stras should be fine barring any new injury.  I actually think Max was still Max he just needed a full season for his #s to normalize.  Corbin is concerning, but hopefully we can chalk it up to the weird circumstances.

1B and corner OF bats aren't hard to find, so we can shop for bargains there.  1 of Garcia or Kieboom likely starts with Castro back at 2B or 3B.  I think the bullpen will largely remain in-tact aside from perhaps a bargain lefty added.

Lol at the Lerners spending that kind of money this offseason.

I kind of had the impression that the experiment with moving Soto to RF, where he played as a youth and for his brief minor league career, might be permanent with Eaton gone. If so, LF would be the outfield hole to fill. Does anyone else think this is possible, and if so, who are the candidates out there? Ozuna comes to mind most readily, but I am ambivalent about him.

Why are we so hostile to O'Day? Dude has done nothing but pitch well. He doesnt rely on velo. We need stable relievers, especially since the back of our rotation is going to consist of guys who struggle to get through opposing opposing lineup twice.

hudson, rainey, finnegan.  Do we need a righty?  He gives up a lot of flies.  He's been getting by on Ks.  I'm guessing you think we could pick him up fairly cheap?  If he's unsigned in February, I'd add him to the mix, but I would not target him over say, a lefty.
