Barves need to go for history here - what's a massive NLCS choke without drunk baserunning?  Time for a salami.

So true - it's like there is a fear the team will never score again and have to take chances at every opportunity

Such terrible baserunning this game

Thankfully the celebrities out on the left coast didn't get the satisfaction of crawling out of the woodwork and into those overpriced NLCS seats behind the dugout in Los Angeles.

The Barves will be a force next year for sure.

I wonder if Freddie Freeman prefers the orange Gatorade classic or the the blue G/2?

How do the Dodgers afford  their PR with the huge contracts to Betts Seager Bellinger Jansen Buehler Kershaw et al? Are they over the cap?

Not sure if serious, but Buehler, Bellinger, and Seager don't have big contracts relative to their production.   Buehler hasn't even hit arbitration yet. A huge part of the Dodgers' budgeting right now is that most of their rotation hasn't even hit arbitration yet.

Yes, they're over the luxury tax this year, but by less than a million; their (unadjusted for the short season) payroll was $50 million less than the Yankees, although Price opting out of the season helped that math a lot.

Here were the numbers at spring training.

Probably helped them when Price opted out.

Just need the Rays to win it all now so that baseball will suddenly forget this joke of a season.

Outside of LA, will anyone be rooting for the dodgers?

well, I have a soft spot in my heart for both Dave Roberts and Mookie, but I probably root for the Rays (I like Kevin Cash, too).  Not going to be negative about either team and will just enjoy watching them play.

By the way, how soon until this is known as the Andrew Friedman extra 2% series?  That's the only :smh: out of it.

...and after all that, in a season where 16 teams made the playoffs and it was easier than ever before for a mediocre team to go deep in the postseason, we have a World Series between the team with the best record in the AL and the team with the best record in the NL.

and a team with one of the highest payrolls against a team with one of the lowest. Should be interesting. I have to assume the Dodgers are heavy favorites.

Gonsolin is trash. Urias is a lefty so they'll want to use him situationally.
Is three inning situational use?

Quick series: Dodgers in 5.
Rays are + 175 which is about the same as the Nats were last year.
