The Reds are the team in question. Today's game seems to be the Braves offense stymied by the dominant Reds pitching, while the only question was who would be worse - Reds hitting or Braves pitching. Apparently, this is at the moment now the longest a game has gone 0-0 in postseason history.

My guess would be the hitting coach wants them to swing at anything close to the zone, aiming for contact rather than a hit. Tires out the other team's pitcher, gives you a better chance at a walk, and if you accidentally make too much contact, results in an infield fly or weak ass grounder most of the time.  But I say that without looking up any stats like BABIP or if their K rate has dropped (or increased?) significantly from years past.
The Reds were 7th in Ks in 2017, 4th in 2018, 8th in 2019 and 10th this season. No idea if there is a pattern in the actual rates.

More like the Hundred Years' War. At least the Thirty Years' War only last thirty years. The Hundred Years' War lasted 116 years.

You load the bases to face Freddie Freeman - it kind of feels like you should lose.

Twins drop their 18th straight playoff game and are eliminated by Houston.  There's always next year.

Maybe Manfred will institute a 'Social Promotion' rule, free ride after 20 consecutive playoff losses.

Dane Dunning will likely see action today in Game 3 of the CWS/OAK ALWCS.

yeah, um, about that.

I heard yesterday that the Twins now also have the proud distinction of being the first team in the modern era to make the playoffs but not play in October (the Indians-Yankees game technically finished in October).

The Braves have the streak of 11 straight postseason series lost going.  If it ends on a 3 game series it should get an *.

Treinen pitched a scoreless inning last night for the Dodgers.  Had forgotten about him being in LA.
