Should have raked better
everyone's a comedian these days...
I'm trying not to get political here but halfsmokes is right on the money. The environmentalists got the state governments to stop the practice of clearing out the dead trees and brush. So we have all this fuel laying there waiting to be ignited.
you got a degree in forestry?
The policy of fighting all fires led to major fires with built ip kindling. That, and consistent, persistent heat dry out the trees and forests.

The real issue is that we should not have so many houses near forests in climates where you have so much dry weather. Same as people shouldn’t be building houses in flood or hurricane zones. Mother Nature shows no remorse.
This, also DCfan has a point- forests periodically burn, we now stamp out any fire, so the ones we don’t get to have an enormous amount of fuel
So better raking needed.
Indeed. (Image removed from quote.)
That's what Zinke's degree was in. $
a ryan zinke op ed? Are you kidding me? What, you couldn't find something by James Watt or Becky Dunlop?

Yep. There’s no single cause
LightningArsonCarelessness....
climate change
I knew this one was coming. The instant reason for any calamity....
It’s odd ain’t it? For years climate scientists have been predicting that warming temps lead to larger fire risks, so obviously when their predictions come to pass it’s rock solid evidence that they were wrong, right?
If I get any deeper in this it’ll be shipped to politics thread so I’ll bow out by saying climate change has been happening since God created us and the world we live in.
