Kirk Herbstreet suggested that Big Blue may opt out of their game next week just to keep OSU from playing enough games this season to qualify for the B1G football championship game.

What a sick, pathetic homer...

Why would the league allow that? I’m any event OSU can just for directly to the Final Four then. They have no minimum game requirement!  Or at least I think that’s true because I heard someone say it yesterday on the local radio.

Kirkie apologized. I think he may be on to something though.  Would not put it past Harbaugh.

In fairness, they had been showing practice clips of her all week booming kicks, so maybe they figured it'd surprise their opponent.  But - they were already down a ton, so surprise wasn't going to be there.

Marshall was also undefeated coming into today.  But losing 24-0 to Rice late in the game.  That's right.  Rice.

Nice to see Khalil Herbert get a chance to shine on national TV tonight.  Having a great season.  However they will probably be far behind and will have to pass too much for him to shine brightly.

Coastal Carolina and BYU was a hell of a game. You could not have scripted that any better. Imagine a future in which teams have a flex week on their calendar, which is filled by an out-of-conference game scheduled by an algorithm in an attempt to get closely-matched teams from different conferences playing each other. It might be one of the only realistic ways teams like Coastal Carolina can play a tough enough schedule to get voter attention.

That’s why major conferences have zero incentive to participate

Missed it but looked like a fun game. Most of the other college games this year have been boring. They can just expand the playoffs to 8 and guarantee one spot to the best team not in the power five.

So, if they get squeezed out of the playoff, do they get mad and become Postal Carolina?

So no Ohio State/Michigan. Ohio State hasn't played enough games to qualify for the Big 10 championship and the conference already backed themselves into a corner when Nebraska wanted to reschedule earlier this year and they were told no when nebrasaka/wisconsin was cancelled. The real question is, do the playoffs take a non-conference champion who have only played 5 games?

theyll just change the rules for OSU. nebraska will nag and moan but who cares, school is basically just white noise in the conference.
