Maryland cancelled their game with Michigan State. In addition to several players testing positive, seems the head coach has as well.

I found this interesting. Mostly because in the article they noted that Penn State believes it has an exemption to the state mandate. They’re so special.

Yet VPI and Pittsburgh will apparently wear masks, including the players on the field, when they play at Heinz Field this weekend.

It’s news orders or guidance from the state issued this week.

Hope they don’t find out that some players have breathing issues the way they often find out about heart issues in the middle of summer practices

THE Game would have been tomorrow, but for COVID. Had some wheat beer and a shot of Jamo tonight, swapping texts with my college crew.

The Governor has now exempted the players on the field throughout the state...PSU had already been given a waiver...

Was that a Sandusky waiver?

there's a documentary on last year's game (the one with the 45 minute global warming protest at halftime that ended in near darkness in overtime (doble? triple?) with a Yale comeback win for an Ivy championship).  Facebook, so I did not watch the doc.

I knew Michigan sucked, just didn't expect them to suck this bad.

The situation in the B1G is really, really bad for college football. I don't know if Franklin needs to be fired, but Harbaugh really does. I enjoy laughing at a powerhouse that has fallen on bad times as much as any CFB fan does, don't get me wrong, but there's a point where it just becomes sad rather than funny, and Michigan needing multiple OTs to beat Rutgers is sad.

College football just isn't as entertaining as it ought to be when there's no drama about who wins one of its most important conferences.

Just trade Ohio State to the SEC for Vandy.  And throw in Nebraska since they think they are still big time.

Michigan isn’t a powerhouse anymore- times change and programs rose and fade, why should we care if statuses aren’t perpetually locked on some arbitrary date?

Unless you're an Ohio State fan, you should care that there's no drama to who wins the Big Ten year in, year out. I suppose I'm OK with Michigan continuing to suck if Indiana suddenly becomes a powerhouse or something, but right now there's one good team in the conference.

“We knew going in, and I think all of us — whether it’s the Big Ten and all the other Power Five conferences — understood what we were getting into when we made the decision to play,” Locksley said by Zoom on Thursday, the day Maryland announced the cancellation of Saturday’s scheduled date with Michigan State. “I don’t think there’s been any surprises with any of us.”

That’s the striking thing about all of this: the norms we now accept. The virus is here. It has killed more than 250,000 Americans. There is not yet an approved vaccine. Football is trying to rage forward. The virus is beating it back — from the SEC to the Pac-12 to the Big Ten and back again. Feel like flipping on the alma mater Saturday? Check the schedule first — and make sure it’s updated.

Female soccer player kicked off once. No chance for a PAT as Vandy didn’t score.
