Based loaded with one run in and no outs. Means is not looking good.

Paranoid about stepping on another's toes, I kept hitting refresh even as I was hitting preview on my own post. And we still ended up posting at about the same time.

A hit would have been preferable, but at least CarKie got a run in.

that was a fraction of a second from being a grand slam, just a bit early in his swing.  Nice patient AB for Kieboom.

I feel bad for this pitcher given what he's been through, but he can't find the plate.

Scouting report must have said the RF's arm was jello. I figured Cabrera was dead at home.

Almost the exact same bad throw from Smith, Jr. as in game one. Dwight Smith Sr. could probably make a better throw, and he's 56.

I feel for Means too. Real life sucks.

Loading up with anemic rh bats appears to be paying off.

Hard to complain about "only" three runs in the first, but I would have liked a bigger inning, since it seems like Nats' bats are relatively silent in later innings this season.

3Ks and a Homer will be the title of Max's autobiography some day.

Typical Max start? Three K's and a home run in the first, then, let's hope, he settles in.

I made the point sometime last year in the roboump thread that that might not even change things much and lead to unintended consequences, since as we see with Little, their egos won't allow MLB umps to not find a way to insert themselves into the game in some manner.

At pay at $150K-$450K for 8 months of work, plus per diem and first class flights, you would think they would be grateful. They sure are dispensable, there are others ready and able.

A three fly-out inning for Max seems a little unusual.

And yet another HBP for Mr. Robles.
