Why in the world do we keep sitting this kid out?
Isn't he hurt?

he seems to be playing every other day, alternating with Asdrubal.

I think this is a little like Hatteburg and Pena in moneyball. The only way that Davey is going to play Kieboom full time regardless of defense is if A-Cab is taken away from him.

Rendon batting .103 (4-39 this year). Hasn’t had a hit in a week.

Maybe, but he is dealing with an oblique, so that will probably linger

Yeah, it can linger the whole season for all it matters. I'm grateful for something to watch, but this season is not to be taken seriously.

He had multiple seasons with disastrous starts as a National.

Ridiculous not playing this kid everyday.   Just stunting his growth

Kieboom needs to be playing 3rd every day.  Cabby also needs to play everyday, as does Howie.  Odd man out is Thames.  Maybe every other righty either Howie or kieboom sit for Thames?

Obvious small sample size, but heading into tonight Kieboom had a +4 defensive runs saved, best in the NL:

With the defensive hate he was getting the first week, that's hard to believe

For those keeping track at home, that's zero extra base hits for Mr. Kieboom, with a .200/.359/.559 slash line. I liked his approach early, especially in the Toronto series. And his patience at the plate is reflected in a solid OPS. But it seems to be a lot of weak contact and ground balls as of late. Yes, he's all of 22, but I just want to see him hit a ball hard into the gap. FWIW, he seems to have a good attitude and head on his shoulders, so I'm confident it will come with time and reps.

The lack of XBH is beginning to get noticeable. He's not that weak of a hitter, and I think he's driven a few balls that have been caught, but gee, this is entering trivia answer territory.

Everyone was going ballistic a few weeks ago that he wasn’t playing every day.

He's 22 in his first big league season. No need to panic yet.

Kieboom completely fails the look test. Ugly girlfriend, no confidence, etc.

Luis Garcia looks great in jeans though. He's a stud.

Everyone on here is spoiled by Harper, Rendon, Soto, and now Garcia. Not everyone gets called up and clicks. Sometimes they need a while to get used to the pitching.

Kieboom is 22. Robles is 23. If by this time next year, they're still struggling like this, we can have a conversation. But for now, this is still the learning curve status.
