What do we think about Strasburg's nerve issue?

I'm fine sitting him down. This season will be a cluster. If there is a 1% chance of it being long term issue, I'm fine sitting him for a while then bringing him back in if we wake up in a few weeks and the Nationals are in a playoff race.

I think this is the kind of injury that is only supposed to be a few days and then we look up and realize a month has gone by.

Definitely want to err on the side of caution

Yep, absolutely no reason to risk him this year.

Kieboom injured his groin.

I'm not sure how because he hasnt played, but his groin injury makes it impossible to play the field

Strasburg missing tomorrow's start too.  Kendrick out today with upper back stiffness.

Not looking good for the short term.

‘Ailment’

I wonder what the risk/benefit of 30+yo pitchers doing sprints.

And if he tweaked it yesterday, was this really the time to start

Instead of sprints he should probably be doing the Dock Ellis pre-game warmup.

Stephen Strasburg says he felt the nerve irritation in the fifth, when he shook out his hand and it looked like Dave Martinez and Paul Lessard may visit him. He says he is still learning how to pitch through this.

I hope in the future that the way to pitch through this doesn't involve giving up 5 runs.

How about getting a second, third, and ninth opinion on how to handle this — which can start with a DL stint — rather than trying to pitch through it in this joke of a season. If long-term career impact isn’t the prime mover, let giving up 5 to the o’s sink in

Yes, they have lots of money invested in him.  Silly to trot him out there now.

Stras still having tingling issues with his thumb:

100% fine with looking at 2021. It’s not like there hasn’t been a preventative shutdown before
