Pillar to Rockies, Villar may be heading to the Jays.  No word on whether anyone is bringing back Millar to DH.

It is said that after the Battle of Austerlitz, Pitt the Elder rolled up a map of Europe and said "we don't need this anymore", since it was now all controlled by Napoleon. I fear that soon we can do the same to the NL schedule, because the Padres will just dominate.
Pitt the Elder died in 1778. Pitt the Younger was PM at the time of Austerlitz.

Yikes, embarrassing typo on my end...and one I get away with on 99% of other sports forums :)

I am somewhat of a history buff. One of my grandfathers was born during the U.S. Civil War, and all four of his grandparents were born during the Napoleonic Wars, two of them in what was still the Holy Roman Empire.

I’m guessing he had passed before you were born?

More than 40 years. Quite an age gap among some of my family members.

I still find it an amazing bit of trivia that President John Tyler, who was born during George Washington's first term, has two living grandchildren.

His statue is at W&M and remember hearing that on a tour.  Some of those old guys can still bring it.

I think it was Pliny the Kid whose writings provide the earliest mention of Christians as a distinct group outside of writings within the Christian community.

So Padres are stuck on St Helena.
They're still not even close to being the best team in their division.  The Dodgers just had the #2 prospect in all of baseball chill at the alternate site for a month to manipulate his service time while they ran away with the division, because why not?

I prefer Pliny the Younger. Although that may have had to do with the difficulty I went through to get it.

A bit. Obviously, there is less of the stupid behavior like Clevinger and the casinos, but the way things go, there is always some sort of unknown exposure.

Didn’t realize that the Jays had overtaken the Yanks for second place.
