Bumgarner to the IL.  He's been hammered so far this season.  And Arizona has him for the next five years.

The Rangers are mad because Fernando Tatis Jr. swung on a 3-0 pitch and launched a grand slam when the Padres already had a 7 run lead.

So are players supposed to intentionally strike out when up big now?  This is crazy:

Tatis should walk over the pitcher's mound next game.

That's one I've always found silly.  So he's supposed to just take a strike because of the lead.  And then what, not go back to smacking the crap out of a 3-1 when that one's right down Broadway too?

Between the Astros and Rangers, Texas seems to have a pretty solid stranglehold on weepy ass ballplayers and staff.

just last year we came down from what, a 9-1 deficit in the 9th? but yeah these loser coaches think players should stop trying up 6-7 runs. the rangers manager should be fired today for being such a moron.

He got suspended for 2 games because they threw behind Machado in the next at bat. The only person who can possibly be upset is the Padres manager because he gave the take sign and Tatis ignored it. But he lost all moral high ground by calling out his player in public.

These comments on unwritten rules are from the same Nats fans who were upset with the Pirates batter taking a HBP in Max’s no hitter when it was a close game.

Taking, or leaning in? That was on the umpires though. They should have made the batter come back. And the game was not close. The win expectancy in that situation was zero.

Unwritten rules.   :hysterical:

People just wrote about big comebacks by teams. You never know.

1412 games in MLB history where the visiting team was down by 6 runs with two outs in ninth. 1412 times the visiting team has lost.

There’s always a first. What were the odds the Rangers would come back against SD the other night?  Have to think it was very low. The problem with unwritten rules is once you start they are hard to stop. Like eating potato chips.

But that wasn’t even an unwritten rule. The actual rule book says you have to attempt to avoid the pitch to be awarded first base.

Then it’s on the umpire. Don’t complain about the player.

You're comparing someone who didn't break a rule in a meaningless situation to someone who broke a rule in a historically meaningful situation and wondering why people's opinions of the two differ?

Will it be in my grandkids history books?  I'm just tired of all the whining over the whining.  It was different.  I admit.  Get off my friggin lawn now.

Well, there have been 23 perfect games in MLB history.  Jose Tabata and Jim Joyce have therefore reduced the number by roughly 8%.

And I'm sorry about your garden gnome, but please don't use me as a sandbag.

wow, Brenneman is a national-level announcer.  I hate the "if I offended anyone" stuff.  It should be more, "if I didn't offend you by my remark, then you have a problem too."
