Could have played in the morning.

Don't understand why they wouldn't have tried. It's not like 45K are descending on the stadium. Play it. Try to play it.

May have put them in a position of having more than 20 games scheduled in a row...dunno...too lazy to look...  :D

According to Braves beat writer David O'Brien on Twitter "Teams don't want to give up scheduled days off generally if they can avoid it. Plus, road team on getaway day already packed and checked out of hotel; logistics. With Nats back here in 2 weeks, doubleheader with 7-inning games is easy. Far more appealing than hanging around a day"

I kind of like the idea of traditional 7 inning doubleheaders going forward.   That would be a fun day at the park.

I don't hate it. Saves your staff, too.

Could be dicey tonight - weather.com calling for 55% chance of thundershowers at first pitch (remember that's 18.05 tonight) and 50% chance through 19.00 and 20.00 - will drop off to 20% at 21.00.

Hopefully the Nats sent their ground crew up to help?

Now that would have been something to address before the trade deadline

Looking a bit unpromising for tonight, with scattered/isolated thunderstorms throughout the evening and precip chances ranging from 35-65%.
