Weather for upcoming games (2020)
« Topic Start: July 23, 2020, 09:18:25 AM »
Looks like rain is forecast for game time, do we think it goes as scheduled?

It does look a bit dicey per weather.com's hourly forecast - chances of rain/thundershowers in the 45-60% range during normal match times, after chances hovering close to 50% for the afternoon.

A rain delay would be so 2020.

Okay, took another look at weather.com and they're now calling for 40% chance of scattered thunderstorms at 19.00 and 45% at 20.00 and 21.00; however, after that it goes back up into the 50-60 percent range; also calling for 75% chance of thunderstorms at 18.00.

I think it's the lightning, as much as (if not more than) the rain, that is the real threat to getting our opener into the books.

I kind of would like things to p (for precipitation) themselves out in the afternoon, like yesterday, so the game can be played with a slightly late start, but sounds like the forecast is for later rain.

It's almost like that in the latest read on weather.com. At 17.00 and 18.00 there's a 75% chance, which dips to 40% and 25% in the first two hours of actual match time, but after that it heads back up into the 50-55% range for the rest of the evening.

Looking pretty good for Saturday: 86 at first pitch, staying in the low 80's the rest of the way, partly cloudy with no higher than 5% precip chance through normal match time.

Probably a rain out Tuesday and then may a 7 inning DH on Wednesday?

They can play Thursday. Both team are idle.
I know, weather doesn't look good for Thursday but I doubt they would schedule a doubleheader based on a weather prediction.

They will have to play 56 games in 54 days. Insane.

Tomorrow? Why? I don't know if it's in NY or Philly but both are going to be dry by tomorrow night.  I'm curious because I need to drive to NY tomorrow. Was supposed to go today but put it off because of the weather, but tomorrow looks good.

Think he wrote this yesterday. Meaning tonight’s game is postponed.

Guessing tonight's game in DC should be good to go if there's no damage.  Looks like clear, dry weather behind the storm.
