Most of the Greek places were "[locality] House of Pizza."  Really nothing special.
Also, there used to be a place Bulldog Pizza across from the old Rudy's on Elm and Howe. Greek, not very good

Boston House of Pizza on Huntington Ave ruled  :whip:
Bulldog was garbage but when all of Hamden’s good pizza places were closed for the night it made the scary drive down Dixwell Avenue at 2:00 am worth it

yah, Spiro made lousy pizza but was a heck of a guy. Nasty cheese, maybe a bit of feta or something in the blend, always a dark orange.  But Spiro worked incredibly hard. Bullldog delivered to Old Campus, too.  Delivery wasn't so common then.

One of my old roomates was a natural with languages.  In his 20s, he could speak 14 languages plus read latin and ancient greek (not spoken languages).  So, another roomate's sister was sort of a wild thing, and stole a pizza out of a Bulldog delivery guy's car when she was visiting.  The language wiz learned Amharic (the Ethiopian language) so he could apologize to the delivery guy in his native language.  From that, the kid became interested the resettlement of the Jews of Ethiopia.  He emigrated to Israel to  work on Operation Moses, which was a clandestine airlift of much of the community.  There's a great picture of him meeting with Menachem Begin on this.  It also was pretty cool when we played Fordham in basketball because the Yale center was a friend of ours.  Fordham had a center  and a forward from Ethiopia so before jumping for the tip off, Tim shook hands and greeted the other center in Amharic.
