Last pitched on June 26. Not real promising at this point.
Turns 26 next year, add him to the long list of Rizzo's high draft pitching busts.
Sure, because pitchers never get hurt, and TOS is nothing.
[Andrew Golden] Just talked to Cole Henry, who said he’ll be pitching out of the bullpen in a long-relief role now. He and the organization think it’ll keep him healthy after he missed most of 2024 with a lat strain. Spent most of his offseason working on pitching out of the stretch.

Cole Henry, a 2020 second-round draft pick, will transition from a starter to a multi-inning reliever. The Nationals informed the righty of the change during the first few days of spring training, but Henry thought it might happen. He spent the offseason pitching primarily out of the stretch to get comfortable.Henry, a 25-year-old who has a 3.30 ERA in 42 career minor league appearances (34 starts), said the goal is to pitch 60 innings as a reliever this year. He and the organization believe the decision will keep him healthy. Henry had thoracic outlet surgery in August 2022 and made just 14 appearances in 2023 as he managed his workload. Last season, a lat strain limited him to eight appearances between Class AA Harrisburg and high Class A Wilmington.
The goal is 60 innings, the reality will be far lower than that. He's thrown a total of 80 milb innnings across the last three seasons and has walked 41 batters during that time.
not saying he can walk into mlb right now. But if the move to the bullpen works and he can pitch 60 innings, that's good.
at this point i'd be happy seeing any level of contribution after what he's been through.
